Regenerative Innovations was founded by Darren in 2023 as a way to provide solutions to common problems such as energy prices, food shortages and environmental impacts. Drawing on his scientific background and knowledge of traditional techniques and practices he is able to develop practical solutions with minimal environmental impact.

Raised in the South Lakes, Cumbria with a family background in traditional growing, smallholding and traditional crafts problem solving has always been a keen interest and led to a career in genetics and cancer research. Three years working in Canada showed alternative approaches and alternative solutions to common problems. Throughout this scientific training helped refine his problem solving skills and whilst looking into how to convert scientific findings into patient benefit he also received training in business management.

Now based in the South Pennines on the border between Lancashire and West Yorkshire solutions often take into account rain, steep slopes, high winds, rain, snow and even more rain.

After spending a year studying permaculture with Angus Soutar at the Northern School of Permaculture Darren was awarded his Permaculture Design Certificate at the end of 2022 and since then has spent his time applying this knowledge on several other local projects. Initially focussing on projects for local small farmers threatened by rapid changes in the food and subsidy system Darren is developing solutions which can be applied across multiple sectors.
